Get ready for a night of rockabilly, country, gospel and pure 1950’s rock and roll with “One Night in Memphis” – a high energy concert that takes you back to December 4, 1956, the night when four of the biggest names in early rock and roll — Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash – gathered together for an impromptu jam session at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis.

Thrilling their audiences with their genre-hopping passport of Celtic reels, flamenco, Gypsy-jazz, Arabic, Cuban, and South Asian rhythms, Sultans of String celebrate musical fusion and human creativity with warmth and virtuosity. Fiery violin dances with rumba-flamenco guitar, while bass and percussion lay down unstoppable grooves. Acoustic strings meet with electronic wizardry to create layers and depth of sound, while world rhythms excite audiences to their feet with the irresistible need to dance.

The Platters’ debut single, Only You (and You Alone), launched the vocal group on the world stage.  The romantic ballad, based on the then groundbreaking Tin Pan Alley sound, became an instant hit with the public and would eventually reach number five on the Pop charts, pioneering the “new sound” of Rock & Roll as we know it today.

Come celebrate the harvest season at the Mallet Barn with friends and the Wolfe’s Neck Farm community. Feast on the harvest of the season with Chef Josh Barry and his team from Union. Enjoy a seated, family-style dinner along with delicious local desserts and drinks.

Maine’s premier annual smart growth summit attracts leaders from across sectors and across the state to share experiences, build knowledge, and create connections. The all-day event features success stories and replicable models through interactive morning tours and workshops nested in the host community followed by relevant and engaging smart growth sessions with experts in the afternoon.

A grand tasting event featuring the varied ingredients and styles of cooking found in Maine, along with beer and wine samples. Each notable Maine chef will feature a local ingredient in an exclusive preparation. Participating chefs so far are from the following chefs and restaurants: Andrew Chadwick | Inn at the Sea, Karl Deuben and Bill Leavy | East Ender, Melissa Bouchard | DiMillo’s, German Lucarelli | Ports of Italy, Troy Mains | Harraseeket Inn, Chef Nick Krukkala and more to be announced.
