August 3-5 The longest, largest, oldest offshore overnight racing event on the Maine coast! 08.3.2012"Four Figurative Artists" exhibition at Haynes Galleries
Lea Colie Wight, Ellen Cooper, Renee Foulkes and Ryan Brown share a love for the figure, and each brings a unique perspective and a compelling aesthetic to the genre. As a result, these four are among the finest and most exciting painters in contemporary American Realism. Their work is technically flawless, deeply thoughtful and completely mesmerizing. This exhibition surprises by elevating the mundane to the sublime. It captivates by revealing the character of each subject. It astounds with each masterful brushstroke. It is a revelation. A celebration. An invitation to explore and connect with this extraordinary work. "Jesus Villarreal: A Life in Progress" at Haynes Galleries
For Jesus Villarreal, a rising star in American Realism, painting is a journey toward truth in life and in art. His technique — in his portraits, a deeply nuanced chiaroscuro; in his still lifes, a lumninosity that makes them glow from within — is reminiscent of the Dutch Masters, yet at the same time, his work feels completely fresh. Part of the reason lies in his approach. Villarreal paints slowly, thoughtfully, taking time to unveil the mystery even in the most commonplace of objects. We invite you to join him for this exciting journey. A Grape Affair by Cellardoor Winery

Tall pine trees provide shade over much of the course, which winds through Saco, Dayton, Lyman, Waterboro, Hollis, and Old Orchard Beach. The run course is an out-and-back, giving athletes the chance to finish out the race on a flat and fast course that includes sweeping views of the Scarborough Marsh and over a portion of the storied Eastern Trail. Athletes will cross the finish line in downtown Old Orchard Beach. The REV3 Triathlon race series was created to change the way athletes, family members, and spectators view and participate in triathlons of all distances.
