Natural Foods from Local Farms #277

Mainers care about where their food comes from. We are known for supporting local farmers and the businesses that sell our farmers’ produce and goods. Today we speak with Nate Drummond and Gabrielle Gosselin of Six River Farm in Bowdoinham, and Tina Wilcoxson, who sells Six River Farm’s organic vegetables at Royal River Natural Foods, the store she owns in Freeport.

Tina Wilcoxson

Tina Wilcoxson grew up in a northern Maine farming community in a farm family. All of her relatives on her father’s side were potato farmers, which was typical in the County. After graduating from the University of Maine, she bounced around a bit and ended up in New Mexico. She received a degree of massage therapy from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in 1993 and has been immersed in the field of natural healing and living ever since. She began working at Royal River Natural Foods 20 years ago, working in all of the departments through the years on her way to becoming general manager. She became the owner three years ago. She lives in Cumberland Center with her husband, Todd, and her cat, Butter.
