“Morning Poem”

I’m not the kind of

lover you’d expect:

reclusive rain-

walker, late sleeper

and lingerer into a

too long night.

You are the other

hand: early beautiful,

worthy of flurry

and applause from

red-winged flocks raiding

each sunrise.
