Amanda and Jason love the beach, good wine, and lawn games—their intimate wedding involved all three. Although the couple has planted roots in Texas, they wanted to marry near the beaches Amanda grew up on and her family in Westbrook. The Black Point Inn provided the perfect backdrop. The theme of the wedding was outdoor elegance, and Jason and Amanda’s mission was to spoil their families, who have been and continue to be, incredibly loving and supportive. Their guests enjoyed an outstanding dinner prepared by the chefs at the Black Point Inn, beginning with a warm lentil spinach salad and concluding with buttercream cake. They also went on trolley rides, made lighthouse visits, and played golf in the sunshine. “We actually got to make memories with everyone on our wedding day because it was so intimate,” says Amanda. Back in Texas, the couple hosted a reception for their local friends and much-adored chocolate lab pups.
“I WANTED EVERYONE THERE TO FEEL AS SPECIAL AS I DID THAT DAY. I HOPE MY SPECIAL TOUCHES LEFT EVERY GUEST WITH THE SAME WONDERFUL FEELING.”
Why…
that dress?
The simple and classic lace wedding dress—Casablanca, by Enzoani—was the first Amanda tried on, and she knew immediately that it was the right one. Amanda felt pearls and lace were timeless and elegant, and the short train fit the outdoor setting. “I just went with my gut,” says the bride. “Simplify this crazy process or you won’t enjoy it!”
the chalkboards?
Jason’s proposal involved a chalkboard he made for their home, and they wanted to incorporate the detail into the wedding.
Paula Cano of A Family Affair?
It can be challenging planning a Maine wedding from Texas, and Amanda and Jason are grateful to have found Paula to help manage the process.
a small, intimate wedding?
Amanda and Jason decided to make their engagement short, in part so that they would not be weighed down with the stress that comes with planning for very long. An offbeat wedding suited them and the people they most wanted to share the special day with.
