REAL WEDDINGS-February 2013
Photographs by Geneve Hoffman
September 17 | Castine
Molly and John met on a blind date and knew, almost instantly, that they’d found the one. Molly grew up in Maine, and when planning their wedding the couple searched along the shoreline for the perfect place to marry. Castine had everything they were looking for. Friends and family descended upon the small town for an extended celebration, which began Thursday with a lobster bake, boat rides, and cocktails, and ended with a post-wedding brunch on Sunday.
“THE PROPRIETORS OF THE MANOR INN ARE WARM, CHARISMATIC PEOPLE, AND FANTASTIC CHEFS AND BARTENDERS. THEY WORKED TIRELESSLY TO ENTERTAIN AND PULL OFF A GREAT WEEKEND.”
Why…
that color scheme?
Sea glass inspired the color palette. Molly loves combing the beach for glass and wanted to evoke the way a handful of beach glass looks—the color variety and textures of blues, greens, and whites.
wed in early fall?
The days are warm and the air cools down at night in late August and early September in Maine.
photographer Geneve Hoffman?
Molly and John knew they didn’t want to compromise when it came to photos. They found that Geneve captured moments in a unique and flattering way.
include local maps in welcome bags?
Upon arrival, guests received local maps highlighting shops of interest and hiking trails. The couple encouraged their friends and family to lead hiking trips and other excursions throughout the weekend.
