“I made these starfish tangled in Medusa’s tentacles for a solo show honoring Rachel Carson, who warned us 50 years  ago about the dangers of spraying chemicals like DDT. In Greek mythology, the one who looked into Medusa’s eyes turned to stone. Does our desire to rule over nature put us in danger of turning into stone?”
