After graduating from Brown University and before relocating to the big city, theater major Annie decided to spend a summer with her grandmother, tending bar in Camden. The first night they met, Mike “made a fool of himself at the bar and somehow managed to get my number,” recalls Annie. Later that week, he came by the restaurant to see if she wanted to chop corn with him the next day. “After our first afternoon together, I didn’t want to leave his farm. I thought he was one of the most interesting people I had ever met.” Annie fell in love with both Mike and Maine and never left. Now, the couple lives and works on a 55-cow organic dairy farm called Sheepscot Valley Farm in Whitefield. In addition to milking cows, Annie is a past board president for the Northport Music Theater and has her own event-design and production company, A. Watson Design. Their romantic, outdoor celebration was truly a representation of them—“a little bit of sparkle and a little bit of dirt.”

WHY…

that venue? Glenhurst is Annie’s grandmother’s childhood summer home, a rambling farmhouse that is “lost in time.” They were married by a family friend along the Medomak River.

that color scheme? They kept the color scheme neutral, with lots of beige and light pink, so that the colorful flowers would really pop.

that dress? Annie designed the dress with the help of her mother and Daniel Faucher, a process she loved because she got to spend so much time with her mom.

that hair? In keeping with the romantic, vintage look and feel of her dress—and her wedding in general—Annie went with a low updo that incorporated some of her natural curl.
