“I think you know from Emilie that this is a second marriage for both Peter and me,” writes Lisa. “I lost my first husband, Monte, on 9/11. My oldest daughter was seven and my twins, Sophie and Jack, were six. My husband used to tell me that if anything ever happened to him he knew I was perfectly capable of raising the children. I have spent the last 12 years proving him right.” It would be several years before Lisa spent a weekend away from her children, before “coming up for air,” as she put it. She met Peter on a blind date and the pair fell quickly in love, closing down restaurants date after date, always with more to say. Migis Lodge has been a place of healing for Lisa and her kids since 2002, when they visited on the first anniversary of 9/11. They’ve visited Maine just about every year since. For their wedding, Lisa and Peter filled Migis to capacity, hosting their beloved friends and family for a weekend-long celebration and showing them all the lodge has to offer. Lisa and Peter were joined by their children during the ceremony, with Jack arriving on a boat with his mom and walking her down the aisle.

“ONE OF THE REASONS PETER FELL IN LOVE WITH MIGIS AND THE IDEA OF GETTING MARRIED THERE WAS THE ENDLESS ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE. PETER HAS WORN THE HAT OF A RECREATION DIRECTOR IN HIS PAST AND HE LOVES NOTHING MORE!”

Why…

Migis? The couple chose a place that had special meaning to them and their families, where their extended family and friends could all be together for an entire weekend. Migis took care of nearly everything, making sure everyone was happy, comfortable, and well fed.

that outfit? “I am just not the wedding-dress type,” says Lisa. “I had a dress by Pamella Roland remade into a top.” She found a flowy pant by Naeem Kahn to go with it, and the result is stunning.
