A casual setting for family gathering

On chilly evenings in the summer or cooler days in the fall, a barn with a wooden interior decorated with lights and candles evokes warmth and comfort. Photographer Nadra Edgerley and designer Laurie Andrews created a setting on William Allen Farm that was filled with light and color and made for an intimate occasion. Hanging plants and cafe lights were draped from an apple ladder above long wooden farm tables decorated with candles, pink flowers, and simple place settings.

Andrews also created a lounge area using modern white furniture that contrasted beautifully in the rustic setting. “I think couples can mix old and new to tell a story of their personal taste,” says Andrews. “They should not be afraid to step out of the box.” Outside a ceremony is exposed to the natural landscape and additional sitting areas are created for guests to find a comfortable place at the gathering.
