Andre and Christina grew up in Freeport, but were in different grades, so never had a chance to become friends. After high school, they went their separate ways, Andre to Tokyo and Christina to New York City. They met again at a mutual friend’s party in New York City, and the pair hit it off. Years later, on a fall day, after a brunch with friends and a walk through Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Andre proposed. Wanting a venue that had a mix of Brooklyn, with reclaimed wood and decorations, and Maine, with local flowers and lobsters, they decided on the Barn at Flanagan Farm in Buxton.
“After we chose the Barn at Flanagan Farm, we knew that we wanted lots of beautiful flowers, great food, and most importantly all of our friends and family to have fun celebrating our special day with us,” says Christina.
FLOWERS: The flowers were picked on Snell Family Farm and were a mix of peonies, lisianthus, dahlias, snapdragons, and lamb’s ear. Bouquets and arrangements balanced pale pink, creams, white, soft peach, and silvery greens.
DECOR AND CENTERPIECES: The wedding colors were light peach, cream, and gold. The centerpieces were custom-made birch candleholders accompanied by flowers.
DRINKS: The specialty cocktails of the day included blueberry lemonade as well as a refreshing watermelon and key lime drink.
