Scott Simons has been a patient observer of the changes in Portland over the past 25 years. Simons is an architect who works with his studio team to design buildings that he hopes are beginning to change the landscape of design in the city, such as the Portland Public Library and the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal. He believes Portland can become one of the world’s great cities for design. Recent history confirms the city is ready for well-designed, modern buildings, so it’s time to push the edge and become players on the world stage of design.
