June 1 | Peaks Island
Anthony and Lyndsay met in 2005 while working at the same hospital. Anthony was beginning his residency at the University of Rochester while Lyndsay worked as an inpatient dietitian. The pair bonded over their mutual love of New England, where they both grew up—Anthony outside of Boston, and Lyndsay in Falmouth. After a somewhat spontaneous proposal in Bermuda, the pair began planning their elegant and relaxed Maine wedding. Lyndsay had been to Peaks growing up and knew that the island would provide the perfect backdrop for their wedding and reception. After a Catholic ceremony at the St. Christopher Parish, the couple was joined by guests for a very nautical celebration (complete with surf and turf!) at the Inn on Peaks Island.
“HIS COMMITMENT AND PASSION FOR HIS PATIENTS LEAVES ME HUMBLED, AND YET AT THE END OF THE DAY HE ALWAYS FINDS WAYS TO LET ME KNOW HE CARES.”
WHY…
the rehearsal dinner at Becky’s Diner? Guests joined the bride and groom for a lobster bake on the roof deck at Becky’s Diner the night before the wedding. The bride had worked at Becky’s in school and wanted to introduce guests to Portland’s Old Port as well as the island.
Peaks Island? The island had the relaxed feeling Anthony and Lyndsay were going for, and they found everyone they worked with at the inn wonderful. Out-of-town guests especially loved the ferry ride.
those colors? The couple was going for a nautical theme, with lots of navy linens and pale pink flowers. The wedding party wore coral dresses for a pop of color against the dark blue.
