Christina and David hadn’t dated long before they knew they’d be together forever the way some couples know after years: “Everything fell into place so effortlessly it felt right thinking about marriage after a few short months,” says Christina. The couple decided to hold their wedding ceremony and reception at the beautiful church-turned-restaurant Grace, where they’d gone on several dates. Both Christina and David grew up outside of Portland, and it felt just right to hold their wedding in the city that means so much to them. Although they were aiming for an elegant, traditional reception, they wanted to make sure it was laid-back and fun for guests. They used flowers sparingly but beautifully, and dotted the simple table settings with mismatched votives. The bridesmaids were dressed in shades of blush and golden yellow for a lovely look that was coordinated but not matching. The Tony Boffa Band brought the fun.

“MOST FAMILY AND FRIENDS REMARKED ON THE BEAUTY OF THE SPACE, GOOD FOOD, AND THE AWESOME TONY BOFFA BAND—THEY HAD EVERYONE DANCING.”

Why…

that hairstyle? Christina wanted to balance the sparkle and tulle in her dress with a relaxed, low-key hairstyle, and Cynthia Dube nailed the perfect soft romantic waves she had envisioned.

those flowers? Peonies, tulips, and ranunculus are spring flowers that beautifully evoke the season.

those cupcakes? The couple wanted to give guests the option of trying a variety of desserts, and Jessica from Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott makes the perfect mini, two-bite cupcakes.
