Jason and Joe were bound together by many things before they married. “We both believe in giving back to others and making a difference in the world, and through all of this ensure that our son learns to do the same,” says Jason. Maine holds a special place in their lives, and Hidden Pond was the choice venue for their celebration since the pair had been visiting the beautiful property for years with family and friends. Loving fall in New England and hoping their guests would take the opportunity to get away to Maine for a mini-vacation, they held the wedding on Columbus Day weekend. Chef Justin Walker of Hidden Pond’s Earth created a beautiful meal for an intimate group of about 65, and the flowers were pulled together by Danielle Walker with decor and props from Rick Taranto of Details Event Staging. Kids at the wedding enjoyed L.L.Bean bags filled with items to entertain them throughout the weekend.
“WE BOTH DISCOVERED HIDDEN POND TOGETHER ON VACATION AS A FAMILY AND MET SOME OF OUR DEAREST FRIENDS THERE. WE’VE VACATIONED THERE TOGETHER FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. IT IS A HOME AWAY FROM HOME.”
Why…
that venue? Hidden Pond has special meaning to the couple since they spend time there every summer. It is a kind of home away from home, and it made perfect sense to hold their wedding here. Also, chef Justin Walker is “simply the best” so they knew their guests would enjoy a great meal.
that band? Jason Spooner came recommended to the couple. Not only was the music great, but he was very helpful in the planning process, helping Jason and Joe pick out songs.
