Briana Volk is a mother, wife, restaurateur, and former advertising creative. Portland Hunt + Alpine Club, which she owns with her husband Andrew, was named one of the “5 Best New Cocktail Bars in America” by Bon Appétit in 2014 and was a James Beard semi-finalist for “Outstanding Bar Program” in 2015. Prior to opening the bar, Volk was a creative at some of the most highly regarded advertising agencies in the world, including Wieden + Kennedy and Viacom. She is the founder of the Rum Riots, an annual weekend celebration of Maine’s cocktail community, vice president of the Maine chapter’s United States Bartenders’ Guild, and an all-around enjoyable dinner guest. Her next restaurant project is slated to open in the spring of 2016 in downtown Portland.
