Join us for the AIA Maine Design Awards 2018 Celebration. Our biennial program recognizes excellence in Maine architecture. Experience an evening of great architecture and design, showcasing over 60 of Maine’s best architectural projects in a unique space on the Fore River in Portland.

STOMP

STOMP is explosive, inventive, provocative, witty, and utterly unique—an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages. The international percussion sensation has garnered armfuls of awards and rave reviews and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms.

Kinetic Energy Alive Dance presents Grit and Grace III: Unleashed Identification

Kinetic Energy Alive Dance Productions presents their 6th Annual Studio Showcase. Heart-beating, chest-pounding moments will make you cry, shout, laugh, and hold your breath. Be prepared to allow your deepest desires, passions, and dreams to become – UNLEASHED. General admission tickets $15 in adv.; $17 at the door.

Annual Plant Sale

A great selection of perennials, annuals, herbs and seedlings, from full shade to full sun, will be available. All plants are donated by volunteers, friends and neighbors. There will be plants for the beginning gardener and those with green thumbs. Whether you are a novice looking to start your first garden or a green thumb looking for something new, our plants run the gamut.  The Annual Plant Sale is a wonderful way to recover from the long winter and support Wolfe’s Neck Center.

3rd Annual Run of the Royal

This four-leg, flatwater canoe relay race supports the Royal River Conservation Trust and our plans to acquire and improve public paddling access points and shoreline habitat up and down the river, its tributaries, headwater ponds, and on Casco Bay. The race’s relay format, with eight racers paddling four legs (two paddlers/leg) is an amazing team-building opportunity, so don’t let your company be left out in 2018!

Rockport Dance Conservatory

Rockport Dance Conservatory presents “The Selkie Child”, loosely based on the animated Irish film “Song of the Sea.” This annual production is known for its incredible costuming and set design. General admission tickets available through RDC or at MidCoast Recreation Center; adults $15, students $10, children under 5 free.

Pineland Farm Trailing Running Festival

This is a two-day extravaganza of trail races, beer drinking, barbeque, potluck salads and desserts, old time music, and fun family events. Held annually on Memorial Day weekend, the current events include seven races;  a 10km,  5km, new kid’s race, canicross 5km, 25km, 50km ultra &  50 mile ultra all on beautiful trails.

Down East Singers Memorial Day Concert

Memorial Day Concert entitled In Memoriam: From Many, One. Concert program to include Rutter’s Requiem and Shende’s E Pluribus Unum. With Emma Hallundbæk, soprano soloist and Mozart Mentors Orchestra. Tickets on sale at downeastsingers.org, The Grasshopper Shop, Rockland; Owl and Turtle Bookshop, Camden; and at the box office day of the performance.
