Last winter a group of friends and I took a three-day, hut-based cross-country ski trip near the 100- Mile Wilderness. The temps never rose above zero degrees, and there was snow in the forecast for our second night. With that in mind, we made sure to get to the hut be- fore the flurries arrived. After a several hours gliding through the snow-covered forest, we arrived at the tiny hut and quickly warmed up next to the wood stove. After un- packing for the night, we explored a few hiking trails around a nearby pond hoping to catch sunset. Un- fortunately, because of the incoming weather, we didn’t get a sunset, but on the way back to the cabin, I saw this little framed view between the trees of our home for the night. Thankful that I had my camera with me, I snapped this photo. I can’t think of a cozier place to get snowed in for the night.
