Capture June 2021
Every summer, to celebrate family, friends and another year of living, James “Mac” MacKenzie would climb up to the top brace on the Indian Island dock and perform a perfect swan dive. Mac continued defying age and gravity until he was 90 years old, and only stopped diving due to eyesight issues. He built this dock, the cabins, and the huts on the Muscongus Bay island off of Round Pond with his wife, Judi, and other family and friends. Mac’s zest for life infected everyone around him. He loved Maine and relished sharing island life with everyone he met.
Greg Tutunjian lives in Milton, Massachusetts, and has a tattoo on his left arm in memoriam of Mac. You can follow him on Instagram @gregtutunjian.
