After struggling as a young man to feel successful in traditional educational settings, chef David Turin found his way in the kitchen. Today chef Turin works to help students gain confidence through his work with Maine’s culinary vocational programs, in the David’s Restaurant kitchen, and through his surf camps. “It’s not about the task that you become capable and competent at, it’s how mastering that task allows you to visualize yourself.”
