Maine Warden Service
The Maine Warden Service, through education, community involvement, professional law enforcement and search and rescue practices, serves and protects the public while conserving Maine’s fish, wildlife, and other natural resources.
Maine Warden Service is part of the MaineDepartment of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and are positioned all over Maine to protect wilderness and animal habitats. They enforce safety laws for all terrain vehicles andsnowmobiles. They investigate hunting-related shooting accidents and ATV or snowmobile crashes. The service launches search and rescue operations, and patrols the lakes and woods of Maine using snowmobiles, ATVs, planes, and trucks.
Lindsay Bourgoine
Lindsay Bourgoine of the Appalachian Mountain Club works on a variety of conservation and recreation initiatives in Maine as the Maine Policy Associate for the Appalachian Mountain Club. Lindsay focuses on state conservation policy, advocating state funding towards conservation programs and actively following environmental legislation. On the recreational front, Lindsay is currently coordinating the strategic planning of a project to connect organizations with the common interest of getting more Mainers outside- the Maine Outdoor Coalition which recently hosted the first ever Great Maine Outdoor Weekend. Lindsay also spends time promoting the recreation opportunities in AMC’s 66,000 acre Maine Woods Initiative, located east of Moosehead Lake in the iconic 100-Mile Wilderness region of the North Woods.
