Michael J. Tarpinian currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Opportunity Alliance, the CAP (Community Action Program) agency for Cumberland County . The Opportunity Alliance partners with communities and individuals to deliver a full spectrum of social services and mental health care. An accomplished administrator, Mike has more than 3 decades of experience working on behalf of children, youth, adults and families as a leader and advocate at The Opportunity Alliance and Maine’s Department of Mental Health & Mental Retardation.
For his efforts in the oversight of the merger between Youth Alternatives Ingraham and PROP, Mike received Mainebiz’s Non-Profit Leader of the Year award.
A graduate of LeMoyne College and Cheverus High School, Mike is known as a leader throughout the community. A long-time Westbrook resident and a native of Portland, he and his wife Nancy have two daughters.
Ethan Strimling
Ethan Strimling, is currently the Chief Executive Officer of LearningWorks, a not-for-profit providing the best learning opportunities in Maine for at-risk youth, the immigrant community, and low-income families. He has been the chief executive for 14 years. Ethan has served in the State Senate for six years representing the City of Portland as Chair of the Labor and Criminal Justice Committees, in addition, he has chaired Maine’s Homeland Security Task Force.
Ethan is currently a Senior Political Analyst for the local NBC TV affiliate and for WGAN radio, providing weekly commentary on national, state, and local political issues.
Ethan earned his Master’s from Harvard University, his Bachelors from the University of Maine, and he attended the Julliard School as a Theater Student
