Dr. Doug Andrews, veterinarian at the Falmouth Veterinary Hospital in Falmouth, Maine

Dr. Doug Andrews

Dr. Doug Andrews, ½ of a set of twins born in Heidelburg, Germany, moved to Maine from Hartford, Connecticut at the delicate age of five. A graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, he received his DVM degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. In 1983  Dr. Andrews joined  Dr. Norman Stiles and Dr. Lesley Birmingham at the Falmouth Veterinary Hospital.

Outside interests include a lifetime of involvement with music and percussion. A retired runner, he remains physically active with the “Old Boot” hockey league, and the “Mighty Docs” Veterinary Hockey Team in the winter. In the summer you may catch Dr. Andrews on a wave surfing at Higgins Beach, fly fishing for the elusive stripe bass, brook trout or landlocked salmon, or riding his Suzuki Burgman Motorscooter or BMW LT touring bike with his wife, Elizabeth.

Dr. Andrews serves the State of Maine Veterinarians as the Maine Representative to their National Organization, the American Veterinary Medical Association and is editor of the International Association of Fly Fishing Veterinarians.
