Dr. Jeannette Andonian, Professor of Human Behavior and Social Work at the University of Southern Maine

Dr. Jeannette Andonian

Dr. Jeannette Andonian joined the faculty at USM in the fall of 2001. She received her MSW from Simmons College in 1987 and her PhD at Tulane University in 2001. Dr. Andonian comes to academic social work from years of social work practice both in Boston and in New Orleans. Her practice background includes clinical, supervisory, and administrative work in mental health, medical, and social service settings, and she was in private practice for a number of years. Currently, Dr. Andonian teaches courses in both the MSW and BSW programs at USM in the areas of human behavior, social work practice and field.

Her research has been in the area of children’s mental health services with a particular interest in qualitative and quantitative methodologies that support partnerships with consumers in research processes. Dr. Andonian was recently featured in the April issue of Maine Magazine.
