Eleanor Kinney
Eleanor Kinney lives on a diversified, organic farm in coastal Maine and is deeply committed to sustainable agriculture and to investing in local food. She serves on the steering committee of Slow Money Maine and is co-founder of No Small Potatoes, an investment club that provides micro-loans to Maine farmers and the food businesses that source from them. She recruits new investors to the club as well as to investment opportunities that connect capital to agricultural infrastructure projects. Using a diversity of financial tools, Eleanor is invested in local food businesses including an organic milk company, a grist mill, a vegetable processing facility, several slaughter houses and distribution companies. She serves on the board of Maine Farmland Trust and is a member of the Environmental Funders Network, a group of foundations and philanthropists making grants to Maine nonprofits.
