Happy Thanksgiving! Despite the rainy start to the week, nothing can dampen the spirits when you have a day of eating ahead of you. Whether you’re visiting from out-of-state or are hosting your extended family in Vacationland for the first time, here’s our roundup for this holiday weekend in Maine:

Something to Watch:

Nothing marks the start of winter quite like watching a performance of The Nutcracker! This weekend, get into the holiday spirit with Maine State Ballet’s 45th annual production of the classic ballet. The show is only being performed for the next two weekends, so grab your tickets before they sell out!

When: 2 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Where: Merrill Auditorium, Portland

Something to Do:

Have you started your holiday shopping yet? If you (like us) need some gift inspiration, make your way over to the Maker’s Market at Thompson’s point this Sunday! Featuring crafts from local farms, artists, makers and artisans, the market offers Maine-made gift options for everyone on your list.

When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday
Where: Thompson’s Point Rd., Portland

Somewhere to Go:

Grab your little ones and bundle up for the Christmas Storytelling Spectacular in Lisbon! Held at the Ancient York Lodge, the event features live storytelling of classics like The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and The Polar Express, ornament decorating, and plenty of hot cocoa.

When: 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday
Where: 703 Lisbon St., Lisbon

Something to Eat:

Had enough turkey? How about some fried chicken instead? This weekend you can finally relax and let someone else do the cooking when you go to Crispy Gài in Portland for the Crispy Brunch! There will be a full bar, new menu items (including breakfast-y staples), and micheladas (a favorite brunch beverage) to go around.

When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
Where: 90 Exchange St., Portland
