Meagan Gilpatrick’s inspiration for this shoot came from a holiday nativity pyramid passed down to her family. “The pyramid is a wooden table-top carousel with several levels, depicting various holiday scenes,” explains Meagan. “The spinning motion of the pyramid is achieved by the rising heat of candles around the base. The warm candlelight and smooth motion of the pyramid inspired the whole design.” With a color palette in keeping with traditional Scandinavian design and small, special touches like the straw ornaments, she built a full-blown wedding look incorporating the nativity. The vintage sled and skis complete the cozy, wintry inspiration, and of course there’s the warm, playfully dressed bride. “I always like to uncover something about a couple that defines them,” says Meagan of her approach to wedding design. Outdoorsy, winter-loving lovers take note—this shoot could very well inspire your own celebration.
